1991'de yani bu albüm yayınlandığı sene İzmit'te küçük bir müzik mağazası vardı. Şimdi gitsem bulabilir miyim bilmiyorum. Gerçi mağaza şüphesiz kapanmıştır. Bir hanın içindeydi. Heavy Metal albümleri getiriyordu yurt dışından. Vitrininde Slayer'dan Iron Maiden'a bir çok grubun plağı vardı. O vitrini unutamıyorum. Hem plaklar satılırdı, hem de plaktan kasete kayıt yapılırdı. O zaman walkman'de çok keyifli olurdu bu kayıtları dinlemek zira LP'den kasete iyi bir sistemde aktarılmış albümler mükemmel ses verirdi. Sepultura'nın 'Arise' albümünü buradan almıştım. Daha doğrusu babama sipariş etmiştim. Akşam işten gelirken alıp getirmişti adamcağız ne yapsın. İlk baskı olan bu plağı çok seviyorum. Kapak tasarımı etkileyici. Michael Whelan tarafından çizilmiş. Öyle alelade bir resim değil. Lovecraft'ın Yog-Sothoth'u. Sepultura'ya yalandan kapak yakışmaz zaten. Bir kavram olacak elbet. Şimdilerde bu ilk baskı plağı bulmak neredeyse mümkün olmadığı gibi, satılan nadir kopyaları da pek pahalı oluyor. Yayınlandığı sene 'Arise'ı Türkiye'de satın alan kaç kişiden birisiyim acaba? :)

There was a little metal shop in Izmit when this album has been released in 1991. I don't know if I may find that place again. Probably the shop doesn't still exist these days. It was at an inn. The owner of the shop was bringing LP's form outside of the country. There was Slayer and Iron Maiden LP's at the shop window. I can't forget that shop window. There were many LP's in the shop and also Casettes. Listening to a walkman was really a pleasure that days especially when a music transfered from an LP to a Casette. I bought Sepultura's Arise from that metal shop. Actually my father bought it for me. This is the first press copy. I like it so much. The cover art is impressive. Michale Whelan draw it. It is not just an ordinary drawing but Lovecraft's Yog-Sothoth. When it is a Sepultura album, surely there will be a concept. It is almoust impossible to find the first press these days. If you find one for sale, probably it will be very expensive. I guess I am the one who bought this album first in Turkey.
